How to make your caravan interior feel more like home

Short of doing a full renovation of your caravan, here are a few tips that will help to make your caravan interior feel more like your home. This is especially important for those of us that live full-time in our caravan… it IS our home. Stepping into your caravan you want to feel like you’re coming home, not stepping into a tin box that is impersonal or feels clinical. On days where you’re stuck inside because it’s bucketing down, or it’s just too cold outside, you’ll be glad to have a homey and comfortable place to relax. Here are a

Road Trip Around Australia | Getting Set Up

So you’ve decided you want to road trip around Australia and you’re in the planning stages now? This is a great idea! We had the same idea, but finding the answers to the many questions I had, proved time-consuming and a little bit frustrating. Though we searched high and low, the answers were all over the place. So we decided that we wanted to help others; those that are as excited about travelling around Australia as we were, who have a seemingly insatiable desire to read everything they can about the topic, and who love planning everything that they possibly

Teardrop campers for sale in Australia

If you’ve been looking for teardrop campers for sale here in Australia, you’ve come to the right place. I’ve been thinking about teardrop campers ever since we had a couple of these little campers come in to the show grounds. One turned up on a bit of a windy, blustery day, so we set about finding them a reasonably protected spot (right beside the chooky sheds, as it happened) since they needed to cook their dinner without the wind whipping out the flame on their gas cooker. This got me thinking about the pros and cons of a teardrop camper

The Best Small Camper Vans in Australia (2020 Edition)

I love looking for the best small camper vans here in Australia, and imagining what it would be like to have one and to live in it. I’d travel around Australia indefinitely, just going wherever the weather is not too hot or cold, and taking my whole house with me wherever I go. While I do love small camper vans, I do feel like it wouldn’t be great to live in it full-time as a couple. But IF I were by myself, I think one of the smallest camper vans (but still with a bathroom!) would suit me just perfectly.

The Basics of Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitches

I’ve been seeing a couple of fifth wheelers coming through the showground and they’ve been feeding my desire for a fifth wheel in our life. They’ve been mostly the Travel Home brand (below), which I love, and it’s made me realise that I didn’t actually know what they’re talking about when it come to fifth wheel trailer hitches. I heard words like gooseneck, hitch and king pin being flung around, so I thought I should figure out what they all mean. Heck, I realised that I don’t even know why these types of trailers are called a fifth wheel?!  Answer:

5 Lessons from living full-time in our caravan

We’ve been living full-time in our caravan for ten months now, most of that time we’ve been stationary and either one of us, or both of us, working. Ben at trade type jobs and me in an office. Our caravan is a teeny weeny 14ft pop-top with no bathroom, yet it has become our home on wheels and we’ve totally adjusted to this different way of life. These are the lessons we’ve learnt since we’ve been living tiny in our caravan… 1. Being organised is everything You MUST be organised. I’m not just talking about being organised in your storage,

Do they make small fifth wheel trailers?

Since we’ve been at this show grounds, I’ve seen a lot more both large and small fifth wheel trailers than I ever did in caravan parks as we travelled around Australia. I’m presuming it’s because there is no size limits here at the show grounds, you don’t have to squeeze into an allocated spot, you just find a spare pole with power and water and hook up. So those much larger RVs, like fifth wheels, buses and massive motorhomes, can easily come in and find a spot. Heck, you wouldn’t even have to reverse into a spot here, just drive

Off-Road Caravans

Ok, well let’s start with the first question you’re probably asking yourself about off-road caravans: What is the difference between an off-road caravan and a ‘normal’ caravan? What makes an off-road caravan any better (or even different) than a normal one? Well, all gimmicks aside… you may be surprised to know that there’s really only 3 things that make off road caravans different to normal. If you include all the gimmicky extras, then yeah, there’s LOTS of differences, and any good salesman will rattle off as many of these as possible… but there’s only 3 things that actually make a
